EMT Training Program

A-TEC Ambulance’s EMT program is a fourteen-week training program with hands-on skills and assistance from multiple highly-trained, experienced instructors. A-TEC’s Education Department prides themselves in the amount of support and leadership given to each student, not only during the class but also beyond testing and completion of the NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians). In our class, you will perform many hands-on skills in a “stress test” style and also complete an MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) drill at the end of the program.

Anja Burdick

Anja joined A-TEC Ambulance in 2018 and has worked as an EMT, Dispatcher and is currently on the recruitment team. Anja worked BLS, ALS, and CCT ambulances, along with being part of the Disaster Relief Team and a CPR instructor during her time at A-TEC. She also worked municipal in rural Illinois. Anja obtained her EMT certification in 2016. Recently, Anja created an event called “A Day In The Life” welcoming high school students to learn about her field of work. Anja says her biggest accomplishment and joy is being able to raise her daughter in this community.

Jessica Wilkinson-Parr

Jessica has been in EMS since 2010 and has worked in various forms of EMS over the years before finding her place here at A-TEC Ambulance in 2020. Jessica loves every moment of recruiting. She was always the EMT in various hospital EMS rooms talking to everyone; it never mattered what uniform they wore. Jessica flourishes in most social environments especially when she’s talking about her passions. She is always open and ready to give guidance in any way she can to help. We are thrilled to have her on the A-TEC team!

Joe Bruno held many positions within A-TEC Ambulance ranging from Paratransit Driver, Dispatcher, EMT and EMS Recruiter. Joe shares that in many of his roles he developed adaptability, built confidence, improved his personal skills, and heightened his critical thinking and abilities. He credits the lessons and skills he learned at A-TEC to his current position as a manager of a high end restaurant, Coopers Hawk!
