The Critical Care Paramedic is responsible for providing medical care and transportation services to the sick and injured. Critical Care Paramedics through A-TEC have a career ladder with competitive pay, a fulfilling job, and a great benefit package.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure prompt and efficient response to all emergency and non-emergency calls assigned.
• Assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize standard of care.
• Administer effective and appropriate basic and advanced life support to all patients, operating within the scope of practice outlined by associated EMS system Standard Operating Procedures.
• Administer effective and appropriate care utilizing specialized equipment and medications as approved by associated EMS systems.
• Coordinate patient care with appropriate medical personnel and treatment facilities.
• Ensure security of patient PHI in accordance with HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Maintain all applicable certifications, licenses, and registrations, attending training and education sessions as required.
• Demonstrate accountability for quality patient care, customer service, and assistance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work closely with others and maintain positive, professional relationships.
• Ability to operate, or learn to operate computer software essential to daily operations.
• Ability to maintain a working knowledge of applicable EMS system Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to maintain a working knowledge of applicable Critical Care equipment and medications.
• Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high stress situations.
