The EMT-Basic is responsible for providing medical care and transportation services to the sick and injured. Offering competitive hourly wage and benefits, emergency medical technicians often start their career on an ambulance as an EMT-Basic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quickly and efficiently respond to all emergency and non-emergency calls as assigned.
- Assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish standard of care.
- Administer effective and appropriate basic life support to all patients, operating within the scope of practice outlined by associated EMS system Standard Operating Procedures.
- Coordinates patient care with appropriate medical personnel and treatment facilities.
- Ensure security of patient PHI in accordance with HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Maintains all applicable certifications, licenses, and registrations, attending training and education sessions as required.
